Sundrenched Tulips

Still here at Dow's Lake, I find that the late afternoon sun brings out the best of tulips. These tulips will be dug up soon, and flowers that last through the summer planted in their place. Sometime in October the job of planting bulbs again will happen. And compare the first photo to my header- the picnic table at the right shows it's the same spot. Quite a difference from last year to this one.

  1. I think tulips never last long enough. I would love to enjoy their beauty longer. Someone should tell them :)

  2. Find that quite amazing seeing all those tulips and the various colors. Not sure I'd want to be the one digging them up for bedding plants though

  7. Much more colourful in last year's header spot taken in the same spot William. Soooo many gorgeous blooms. I think the deep orange just might be my favourite!

  8. Truly a beautiful and colourful celebration! People must have tulip withdrawal when the season ends and the colour disappears.

  9. What a work to plant all those tulips each year and dig them up again later. But it's worth all the work, specially the last three photos are wonderful again.

  10. It's hard to imagine that someone would actually dig up these beautiful creations. But I guess the replacements will also be pretty.

  15. That's amazing that they take up all the tulips and plant something else to keep blooms all summer. My favorites are the yellows.

  25. I can't get over the masses of tulips! They're so lovely! About the man reading on the bus on my blog, I used to get sick riding in the back seat, no matter what. I couldn't read in the front seat, either. Now I wear motion sickness acupressure bracelets and have no trouble at all, no matter which vehicle I'm in. They're wonderful!
