The Chaudiere Falls In Sparkling Colour

Here we have more from Miwate today, with the Chaudiere Falls lit up over a ten minute light and music show. The border between the provinces passes through this main channel of the Ottawa River, which makes its way through several channels among a series of islands at this location. The light show itself is dazzling to watch; check out this video I did. I will have more posts from here in December, and no doubt will be attending once or twice more.

  7. I would really like to see this but I live too far away. It seems that there are lots of good things going on in the Ottawa area. I may have to pay a visit some time. I've always wanted to go to the tulip festival but never made it there, so perhaps next year is the year.

  27. @Beth: thanks!

    @Jeanette: yes, the root word for the city and the river is First Nations. There's a tribe by that name, though they didn't spend much time here aside from trading, living off to the west, while the word itself derives from a tribal word for trading. The river got the name before the city.

    @Bill: thank you!

    @Fun60: and there was a lot of blue to this.

    @Revrunner: well we have had snow!

    @Mari: it was quite something.
